You might want to try backing up your ssdt though, and run the latest MultiBeast. It has an SSDT option in there (just added to multibeast within the last few days i believe) that will install one for the over clocked K-series. Think there was both an i5 and i7 one in the options. If once that's sorted the KP persists, make sure the DSDT you extracted was created <strong>while</strong> you were on the patched BIOS in a <strong>fresh</strong> state (don't use a DSDT created previously on the non-patched BIOS, and make sure you didn't extract while already running a custom DSDT since that doesn't actually read the bios, and instead just re-reads whatever dsdt.aml was installed).Need some sleep, but hopefully that made sense. Good luck!

ThehAWKS: it’s been awhile since I’ve done SSDT edits, and on the iPad right now, so won’t be able to take a look until later. I should quickly mention however that the BIOS and DSDT I put up are *not* for the Gen3 version (it's for the base Maximus IV GENE-Z). However, I believe the modded Gen3 BIOS is available through the tonymac thread I'd listed. As for the DSDT, I doubt the ones I put up would work for you Gen3'ers (<em>though I suppose if somebody wanted to "roll the dice".... maybe they're similar enough - i wouldn't really recommend it though as I don't know if anything really bad could possibly happen</em>). Hopefully though, if you guys extract your own DSDT's and grab the patch from the olarila site I linked to, it might work for you guys. If the patch for the Gen3 doesn't work either and you guys end up in the same boat I was in, you might be able to go through the same process I did to patch your own extracted DSDT.

ThehAWKs: Glad it helped you out. While I haven't ordered from them myself, if I had felt they may not be legit, I certainly wouldn't have linked to them.If you're a bit queezy about ordering online though (or in a huge rush), you should be able to find a local bearing shop if you don't need the seal (check the condition of yours first). The bearings are pretty standard sizes (look up the # for yours on the handyman site, or take your old bearings into the bearing shop).Alternately, if you're more comfortable with eBay, sometimes there are kits listed there (bearings and seals) - I had picked one up for another machine that way. Seal seemed fairly cheap, and took forever to get to Canada despite paying extra for 2-day international shipping, but has worked fine.In any case, regardless as to where you get it from, feel free to post back with the experience. Best of luck!

A few seem to have ordered from them (comments here, and I believe a few from the Google Group handyman links to on their site). The alligator clips and plug can be found at Batteryspace too. Well, I bought the 2 new Accupower Evolutions too, to replace that 1 bad C cell out of 9, and alas, the 2 new ones came out much weaker than the other 6. Looks like for anything smaller than a D size, were stuck with Imedions, or the same for AA,AAA, as well as Sanyo eneloop, except they don't carry the bigger sizes. I hope I helped stir you guys to the right brand. Looks like the Imedions are good. Now if only they matched their D cell capacity to the Accupower Evolutions. I tried the Energizer brand batteries, no luck with them.

I believe this pack charger is found at batteryspace and the holders you get somewhere at Wileys Electronics I think, something like minimum order, $10.
