Is there any chance you could host these 64-bit drivers? I used a new disk for my Win 7 install but my old disk does NOT have the recovery partition and thus does not have the drivers.

I have 64x bit windows 7 OS installed on my gt735. Everything seems to work except the HDMI output has stopped working no picture or sound. however the PC does see the TV as a device when connected. Any ideas

Thanks!

I have a question have you tried running Windows 7 32 bit with the Vista 32 bit drivers? I am about to purchase Windows 7 and do a fresh install of it but I wanted to see if the Vista 32 bit drivers have any issues with Windows 7.

Orlando:

As to clarifying the 32-bit to 64-bit, you should be able to. That said, it's one of those "just because it worked for me is no guarantee it'll work for you" sort of things. If MSI changes just 1 piece of hardware slightly and doesn't include the right 64-bit driver... well there's really no way of really knowing for sure until you try unfortunately. If you want to be certain before giving it the attempt, you might want to try leaving a message on MSI's forum, and hopefully you can get a concrete answer (or at least some input from others who have done it).

In regards to the upgrade version allowing you to re-partition, I'm not sure. I used the full version for the install and haven't tried out the upgrade version on anything yet (actually I don't remember the upgrade version being on Technet unless I missed it). Hopefully someone who knows for certain will post, or again you could try the MSI forums.

Best of luck!

Matt,

Thanks for the reply. I just want to clarify that I can go from the Vista 32 bit to a 64 bit Windows 7. Also, does the upgrade give you an option of redoing the partitions? I don't like the way MSI did the GT735 ones.

Orlando:

It's been a little while, so I don't remember exactly which drivers took care of which unknown devices. However, it's very common for one driver to take care of multiple unknown devices (for example, 2 unknown devices may both be related to different aspects of the audio, and the audio folder may take care of both of them).

I was able to take care of all the unknown devices with the process in the write-up, so I assume that was the case.

If you end up with unknown devices in the end though, please leave another comment - sometimes a manufacturer makes changes to the CD's they send, or uses slightly different hardware as they make revisions to the notebook.

Great guide! I just have a question. You mention to browse for all the unknown devices and whatnot, but the vista32 folder only has driver folders for 8 different devices. How will that be enough for all the devices?

rayman:

Unfortunately, hours of looking for a working Dolby 64-bit driver didn't lead anywhere. I must have tried 4 or 5 different 64-bit packages (for other motherboards), without success.

I should probably be clear though - you don't need the Dolby driver. There's either a working sound driver built into Windows 7 64-bit, or it's one of the other drivers on the CD (don't remember which but probably the former).

Sound works perfectly fine in 64-bit Windows 7, you simply can't add on the Dolby-specific software to my knowledge (which most people probably wouldn't use in a notebook anyway). Just wanted to be clear since I wasn't really specific in the write-up.
